Bullpen Management Reports

Below is a Sports Institute of Analytics Bullpen Management report prepared BEFORE the MLB Astros game vs. the Indians on May 27, 2018 (As the results of the game indicate, the Astros' organization did not subscribe to the report and did not use it.)

Below is a compilation of Ken Giles SIA Scores for various games in 2018 thus far and the game results.  Take special note of the SIA Scores that have been outlined in a box.  The outlined SIA Scores below the SIA Score Baseline of 300 are days that Sports Institute of Analytics' algorithms suggest that Ken Giles not pitch for the benefit of the team.  

Likewise, on game days that Ken Giles' SIA Score is above 300, the sabermetrics statistical models indicate the probabilities of a more effective game from Ken Giles.  Sure enough that occurred on April 30th and May 20th.

Ken Giles' SIA Score on June 22, 2018 vs. KC was 122 indicating he should not have pitched.  However, he did, gave up a run and suffered the loss for the Astros (this game occurred after the above report was prepared and is not included above).
