Sports Institute of Analytics (SIA) is a sabermetrics research team that takes volumes of statistics and puts them into simple and quick game day useful information.  Each of our services is based upon Sports Institute of Analytics lab reports derived from unique sabermetric algorithms.  Our internally developed algorithms have been proven in the field for over 21 years across several sports arenas including baseball, softball, soccer, American football, tennis and golf.  The SIA algorithms have proven winners at all ages from 8 to the Olympics to the professional leagues.

Our research team at Sports Institute of Analytics gathers statistics to assist the Team Manager put on the field his or hers best players. Sports Institute of Analytics seamlessly integrates Big Data and statistical models of both teams in real time.  Our sabermetrics research is a sophisticated process beyond advanced metrics. SIA's algorithms involve the probabilistic modeling of winning, player evaluation and interaction effects, roster design, and game strategies.

Although the detailed components of the algorithms are unique and proprietary, the Sports Institute of Analytics, LLC services will provide a finalized product that includes your roster of available players ranked by their respective SIA (Sports Institute of Analytics) Score.  An SIA™ Score is based upon a series of algorithms that consider statistics and Big Data.  See samples below and throughout this website.  The higher the SIA Score, the better team player he or she will be for each particular game based upon your team players and your opposing team's most expected game plan that day based upon statistical models of both teams in real time.  

This will allow you as Team Manager to set your Line-up and roster changes through out the game based upon these SIA Scores.  You will not be encumbered by volumes of sheets and data, but instead 1 simple cumulative SIA score per player that has been field tested for over 21 years.

Description of SIA Services

• Baseball/Softball:

1.  Bullpen Management - Our most requested service because most teams do not have a Pitching Coach or if they do, that pitching coach is best at developing pitchers and not game management.  Our sabermetric algorithms take the guess work out of the equation of who to bring in out of the bullpen to best protect the lead.

Following is a Bullpen Management report for the MLB Astros game vs. the Indians on May 27, 2018 (Astros' organization did not pay for the report and did not use it.)

2. Starting Lineup - Sports Institute of Analytics will analyze your box scores for you as well as your opposing team's expected game plan and provide an efficient run producing batting order for each game independently.  Also included will be the suggested pinch hitters as needed.  

3. Starting Pitcher and Catcher Battery Mates - If your pitcher relies heavily on your catcher to call the pitches during the game or they work in tandem as battery mates, then it is important to have your best signal caller along with your best pitcher for that day.  Sports Institute of Analytics' advanced sabermetrics algorithms will provide you with the best pair of battery mates as well as the best back-ups as needed.  Ask most any pitcher that throws a shutout and he will congratulate his catcher on a great game called.

The SIA algorithms will also evaluate statistical models to better inform managers if Starting pitchers should be limited to approximately 90 pitches that particular game and those last 10 pitches are done in maybe Bullpen stimulation for the benefit of the team.  Likewise, the Sports Institute of Analytics will indicate when a particular pitcher is able to go nearly 120 pitches without waning effectiveness.

• Football:

1.  Depth Chart Management -  Your team coaches and staff have worked all week preparing a game plan.  Which players on your team roster are best suited in this particular game match-up to execute your game plan to a Win.  Which players are best to come off the bench to provide your team that spark to victory.  

Sports Institute of Analytics provides a Depth Chart by position as needed.

2.  Fantasy Team Rosters -  The SIA Scores provide you the best choice at each position for each team match-up. 

What is an SIA Score™?

The SIA Score is like a multivitamin.  The SIA™ includes and summarizes a vast amount of statistics.  However, the SIA Score also includes an incomparable proprietary algorithm that maximizes player efficiency given a certain parameter of statistics.

Like a multivitamin, the SIA Scores can be used alone or in conjunction with many other supplemental sabermetrics without consequences.  Soon however, your team advisers will insist that your daily dose should include at least the SIA Score, just like a doctor recommends a multivitamin. 

Who should use SIA Scores?

What Predictive Values do the SIA Scores provide?

The SIA algorithms summarize predictive values into an SIA Score™.  This SIA Score on a game by game basis using historical match-ups of each pitch can predict future trends.  These include:

• The best starting players from a roster (or possible roster) that provide the best probability for a team's win. 

• Predictive ERA on a game by game basis, ranking your available pitchers that give you the best probabilistic ERA values for a given game. 

• Predictive most probable on base percentage (OBP) for each player on your available roster on a game by game basis. 

• Predicts most probable run producing lineup on a per game basis given a particular expected match-up and analyzing each probable pitch and at bat.

What Predictive Value does the SIA Score NOT provide?

The SIA algorithms summarize predictive values into an SIA Score™.  This SIA Score on a game by game basis using historical match-ups of each pitch can predict future trends.  However, there are certain sports items that SIA Scores can NOT be helpful with in game day management:

• The probability of a runner stealing a base. 

• The probability of it raining during a game.
